Maskandi music the heartbeat of Africa

Nations of the world, elders, brothers and sisters and my fellow men Mzukulu greet you all in the name of Maskandi music my Zulu culture and my African pride.  The pride in me of being an African has driven me to sing Maskandi  music and display my African culture to all the corners of the globe.  I want to invite you all to support me which ever way possible to spread my Maskandi music to the whole world where my intention is to send the message of love and unity to the multitudes of the world.  In Zulu proverb they say "Inkunzi isematholeni" meaning that the young are the ones who will lead the community to the future and that is what I am prepared as a young man to keep on doing through my Maskand music.  I want to reach out to the whole world and share the stage with the best of the world as the young pioneer of cultural music from Africa.

In my veins flows the blood of Africa, Africa my land my pride where rainbow never ends.  When I wake up in the morning coming out of my Zulu hut looking at the mountains,the natural landscapes and the gargantuan valleys and forests of Ungoye across Umlalazi River I feel like singing for the whole world about what I have been seeing since my birth.  I want to tell the whole world through my Maskandi music and acoustic guitar about these marvels of my land, my land in Africa which has been the source of love, creativeness and never-ending energy which pushes me to soldier on in my quest to sing for all nations delivering message of love and unity.  My African forefathers preached peace, unity and harmony for a certain cause which I believe has been accomplished and I want to take the baton and move on with this cause but now preaching love and unity which has the potential to eradicate hatred amongst all nations of the world armed with nothing but my acoustic guitar which has been the beacon of hope for myself and my siblings.

My acoustic guitar has been everything to me and my siblings since the death of our parents back in 2008.  By making this statement I am not inviting people to feel sorry for me but just to remind the African child out there that there is hope beyond such experiences of losing one's parents at such a young age.  My life is Maskandi music and I want my followers and supporters that entertaining them is my game and my life.  To see men, women and children from different backgrounds united and waving banners commemorating our cultural heritage brings hope that oneness love and unity of all nations of the world can still be accomplished.  I want to remind everyone that we are the only creatures in the universe that can sing in different tunes using our voices coupled with various instruments and be happy while instilling hope to the bereaved and deceived.  It is therefore my intention to join hands with all nations in fulfilling my calling of singing to the world playing Maskandi music the African melody.

In the wise words of Nkwame Nkrumah of Ghana "We have awakened.  We will not sleep anymore.  Today, from now on, there is a new African in the world!"  And I want to repeat the same phrase that there is a new African in the world stage and that African is  Mzukulu a young Maskandi Artist from KwaZulu in Africa ready to change the world to be a better place for all who live in it through Maskandi music the heartbeat of Africa.  In saying goodbye I want to invite all of you including Africans at home and in the diaspora to embrace one another for the betterment of our society.  Coming together will bring to an end xenophobic attacks in all spheres of life, unnecessary wars that kills innocent men, women and children which disadvantage our society of capable people who can save our world.  Long live Maskandi music long live.

Mzukulu and his Maskandi

Mzukulu is the son of late Phumangelakhe and late Thuleleni(Ma-Hlela) Buthelezi.  He grew up at Ngungumbane tribal authority in isigodi of Engeza.  This young man was one of the youngest Maskandi artist in 2010 and he performed in various towns and cities throughout South Africa and neighboring countries attracting magnitude of Maskandi lovers.  He was nominated as the best Maskandi performer in 2012 and in 2013 - Amantshontsho ka Maskandi category.  Through high and lows he experienced in the music industry he survived to be a grown-up today.

Noting that people need to know and understand our purpose in Mzukuluonline, we have decided to feature this publication so that you partner with us throughout this journey to prosperity.  We are sharing this concept of Maskandi music to all people who enjoy and pride themselves about our Zulu culture and heritage.  Maskandi is our Zulu folk music and is entrenched in our society and feature the roots of our Zulu culture.  Mzukulu lead the entire band with acoustic guitar that produce sweet musical melodies featuring Zulu rhythms.

Mzukulu is a descendant of great men and women who shaped his character and personality to be a man he is today.  In his blood flows the ancient rhythms of his forefathers which they sang in central Africa dancing to the African waza in praises of their ancestors and great gods who gave them power and strength to survive under tough conditions where their land was being invaded by aliens to disown them their land and destroy their culture and tradition.  After going through the storms and various dogmas Mzukulu has refused to disown his Zulu culture and its heritage, so Maskandi music has become his banner to express his undivided love of Zulu culture.
